Sammy Gyamfi makes revelations about Akufo-Addo ordering the inflation of AMERI deal

Director of Communication for the opposition National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi says President Akufo-Addo himself inflated the AMERI deal by $800 million.

He made this known when he was speaking on Metro TV Good Evening Ghana in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

He said “he himself engages in corruption. The AMERI Innovation agreement is a classical example.

I must tell you that it was not a Ministerial act, don’t be misled by that because it was the President who gave the Executive Approval. I’m telling you today that President Akufo-Addo personally inflated that deal by $800 million”, he claimed.

He further added, “if IES, NDC, ACEP and a layman like Sammy Gyamfi could read and know that the deal was inflated by $800 million dollars, how much more the President who has been a lawyer for years and also have experts and technocrats around him.

Reports on several news portals with regards to the cancellation of the renegotiated AMERI deal indicated that the renegotiated AMERI deal was canceled by President Nana Akufo-Addo after a cabinet meeting because of the realization that the President misled.

Reports indicated that President Akufo-Addo then said he was misled into granting executive approval for the deal under the guise of there being an urgent need to have a bill laid in Parliament before its rising.

Energy Minister then, Boakye Agyarko was subsequently sacked over the power purchase deal and its attendant problems at the time.
